Keeping God’s Word: A Home for the Father and Son
On the day we remember pentecost we’re reminded to keep God’s word. It’s not just about obedience, but about treasuring and holding onto His teachings, even when we don’t fully understand them. The sermon draws from Jesus’ words in John’s Gospel, where He promises that those who love Him will keep His word. This ‘keeping’ creates a space within us where God Himself comes to dwell. What an incredible thought – that we can be a home for the Father and the Son through the Holy Spirit! This message challenges us to clear the clutter of our hearts, making room for God’s presence. It reminds us that we were designed for communion with God, to live in Him and for Him to live in us. As we reflect on this, let’s consider: How can we better ‘keep’ God’s word in our daily lives? Are we creating space for God to dwell within us?
